Sometimes all you need is a shift in perspective to see the abundance you’ve been missing.
When we work with clients on developing and implementing and effective and ethical sales and marketing strategies, cultivating an abundance mindset is something we talk about a lot because it’s such an important step in being able to promote your work effectively rather than forcefully, helping you to really connect with your ideal client.
An abundance mindset is the belief that there is plenty to go around for everyone, including you. It’s in direct contrast with the scarcity mindset many of us subconsciously adopt which is the belief that resources are limited, that you have to fight for your share and to protect it at all costs.
It’s a shift from outright ‘us and them’ competition to ‘there’s room for everyone’ collaboration.
It can be a difficult shift to make and one that definitely takes practice but it’s well worth the effort because it can be so powerful in bringing ease and excellence to your work and to your life.
When you believe in abundance the brain’s automatic process of confirmation bias works hard to prove you right. You begin to notice opportunities and things fall into place. You create your own luck by being open to the outcomes you want as well as those you might not have foreseen.
One of the best ways to begin cultivating an abundance mindset is by working with someone else who can ask questions, challenge your thinking and support your growth by giving you access to a perspective that’s different from your own. Sometimes we can’t see the wood for the trees as the saying goes, so working with someone for whom it’s a little less personal and immediate can give you that critical distance you need, whether it be through a coach or a consultant.
Being out in nature is another excellent way to see and appreciate abundance at scale. After all, there’s not one tree or flower, not even hundreds but thousands of them, and thank goodness for that because aren’t they beautiful?
