Authentic sales approach
We’re so used to a certain type of selling that many people have developed a real aversion to the idea of having a sales strategy in their business. They think it means acting in a way that doesn’t align with their values, but it shouldn’t. Sales shouldn’t be pushy and forceful. It should be natural and completely authentic allowing you to be yourself. After all, people buy from people; it’s a cliché because it’s true.
Sales is not about forcing people to buy something they don’t really want or need just so you can make money. Rather, your customers and clients should be happy to buy from you. They might not always be thrilled they need to – if you sell life insurance for example! – but they should be happy knowing that their needs have been met and that they’ve received good value for the product or service they’ve received from you.
Simpler sales processes
At its simplest, selling is about good communication; understanding the problem that someone has and offering them an effective solution. There will almost always be more than one solution (your competitors!) and if your buyers have considered other options, it can help them be sure that your solution is the right one for them.
