What’s your favourite soup?

What’s your favourite soup? Mine is the classic lentil and vegetable soup recipe that my mum taught me to make years ago, although somehow hers still tastes better – why is that?!

I also once had a divine pear and parsnip soup at the Watermill Bookshop Cafe in Aberfeldy that I still think about to this day. Both are utterly delicious to me, and completely revolting to others.

The point being, that there isn’t one way to make soup and the soup that you enjoy will be dependent upon your particular tastes.

There are many ways and the one you choose depends on lots of variables, such as:

– What do you want it to taste like?

– What ingredients do you have? Do you have the budget to buy more and are the ingredients you’d like readily available?

– What experience do you have of making soup and of making this specific recipe?

The same is true in business, and that’s why at Progress Partners we don’t pedal a single recipe for success. There are many ways to succeed as a small business owner. Some of how you go about succeeding will depend on similar variables to the soup making:

– What does success look like for you?

– What resources do you have available in terms of time, money, people, skills?

– What is your skill level in all areas of running a business, not just The Thing you’re excellent at that’s the reason you went into business in the first place?

It’s likely you won’t have clarity on the answers to these questions and others like them, and that’s why working with an outsourced expert like those in our team, someone who takes a flexible approach to create bespoke solutions can be particularly useful.

We won’t try to force on you a recipe for a soup that you won’t enjoy, instead, we’ll help you devise your own recipe for success that tastes delicious to you making the most of the resources you have available and will allow you to hit your goals as a business.

We do that by combining a strategic approach – devising the recipe – with taking intentional action – making the soup – so that you can make the progress you want at the pace you need.
